Craigowl Communities believe that everyone should have a safe, secure place to stay; be able to earn a reasonable living and have time and resources to make informed choices and pursue personal interests. Not everyone enjoys the fundamentals of a home, a job and a future. Craigowl works with people who have had setbacks in their lives and who need support to achieve goals that many of us take for granted. Our work is focused on employment, training and money management.
Thanks to your help, we’ll launch our Roseangle Academy project – a training programme within a social enterprise business, including barista, WorldHost and food hygiene training for 75 students from within a deprived area. Through the project we will provide training to allow every participant to gain experience and key qualifications relevant to the growth industries in Dundee – particularly the rapidly growing hospitality sector.
We will use the funding specifically for staffing costs, REHIS Food Hygiene and WorldHost Customer Service training, marketing, learner material and operational costs. Our longer-term aim is to see the 75 students successfully enter the workforce and for this pilot project to become self-sustaining, in order to help many more young people facing disadvantages to progress to work.
