We are Aberdeen Foyer, offering opportunities and support for people in the North East of Scotland to live independently through our housing, learning, employability and early intervention programmes.
We believe that every person has a unique set of strengths and capabilities and the potential for growth, change and success. We see the person not the problem and over the past 21 years have worked with thousands of people to help them make remarkable changes to their lives.
Winning your funding means we can grow our Foyer Construction Academy, providing training and employment opportunities for 120 people aged 16-45 facing significant life challenges.
In establishing the Foyer Construction Academy we plan to create a focused, comprehensive pathway into the construction industry. We’ll offer participants on-the-job training, industry-recognised and specialised training and qualifications, work experience and CV, job search and interview skills support. The programme will increase participants’ work readiness, experience, confidence and personal development, providing individuals with accredited and vocational qualifications, improving employability and making them more attractive to employers.
We believe the programme can help turn lives around for those facing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues or leaving care, supporting them to move into work, training and/or education.
